Millie Jackson needs no introduction. One of the great female soul singers of the '70s and '80s, and, indeed, right up to the present time, Millie was born on 15/7/44 in Thompson, Georgia. She moved to Newark, New Jersey in 1958, worked as a model in New York City and began singing professionally at the Club Zanzibar in Hoboken, New Jersey in 1964. She first charted in 1971 with A Child Of God (It's Hard To Believe) for Spring and has regularly been in the charts ever since (recently with such solo offerings as '88s Something You Can Feel and (with Whodini) on '87s Be Yourself (both on Jive). I Had To Say It includes a reworking of her hit Loving Arms, a rap medley as well as 7 other songs.
